Simon Mollison has a strong record of achievements and results in social and public health programming in international development. Simon hasavery solid foundation in the field and managerial skills needed for exceptional programme management and a strong background of promoting and working constructively with new ideas and change.
Simon’s work has usually combined some or all of the following:
- Programme, project cycle and grant management.
- Planning methods.
- Community consultation, research (mostqualitative methodologies) and mobilisation.
- Capacity building for large and small civil society organisations.
- Team leadership, coaching and mentoring.
Simon is currently working as a freelance consultant (recent work with UNICEF and WFP), mostly in the field of community management of acute malnutrition (CMAM). Previous experience included several years as Head of Donor Funded Programmes, responsible for annual budgets c. £125 million, at the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, more than 12 years working as a Country Director for Save the Children in Iraq, Bangladesh and Nepal and seven years with Save the Children in Sudan (including two years as Relief Coordinator. In addition to acute nutrition and HIV/AIDS prevention Simon has experience in developing and managing education, humanitarian assistance, gender violence and child protection programmes and have managed work in more than 25 countries.
Simon has a MA Rural Development (Planning) degree from the University of East Anglia. 1991 and a BSc Psychology (2:1) degree from the University of London, 1984.
