Brigadier General Md Tofayel Ahmed, psc (Retd) worked in Bangladesh Army for over 33 years prior to his retirement on 13 June 2020 and getting settled in USA. He had a fine blend of command, staff and instructional appointments including two tours of duties for the world peacekeeping missions. BG Tofayel worked as Chief Instructor in Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT), Directing Staff (Instructor Class A), Defence Services Command and Staff College, Staff Officer at Unit, Brigade, Division and Army Headquarters, and Commanded Sub Unit, Unit and Brigade Group in Operational Area. He also Worked as Director and Head of Bangladesh Army War Simulation Center. For peacekeeping, worked and UN Military Observer in UNMIL, Liberia and as an Assessment and Planning Officer at UN HQ, NY. He had a long career in selection, training and assigning human resources in Armed Forces, Civilian Sectors and in UN Peacekeeping assignments. 

BG Tofayel holds an MSc in Protection Management from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY, NY, USA , an MBA from Southern University,  an MDS National University, and a BSc from Chattagrm University. He was Awarded with Presidential Gold Medal for best academic performance from BMA. BG Tofayel is a multi-lingual person who reads, writes, speaks and understands  Chinese, Malay, Thai, French, Hindi, Bengali and English.

BG Tofayel has a strong record as a analytical writer and strategic thinker.  Apart from his high-level communication and advocacy skills he has over 50 articles to his credit and made many presentations at national and international forums. He is working with Autism and Neuro Developmental Disabilities for over 20 years and established few schools including Founder Principal of Armed Forces Special Schoool named ‘Proyash’. He is also a member of Global Effectiveness of Peace Operations Network and visited all continents except Australia. He is a keen golfer and loves his happy family with Dr Marufa and sons Shwapneel and Borneel.
