Ambassador Mohiuddin Ahmed served in the erstwhile Pakistani Foreign Service as Trade Commissioner to Hong Kong and later in the Bangladesh Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MoFA) from 1971 to 1999.
As a Bangladeshi civil servant and diplomat, Ambassador Ahmed has served in various capacities in Dhaka and on overseas postings. In Dhaka, he held several positions in MoFA including Deputy Chief of Protocol, Director-General, Additional Foreign Secretary, and Acting Foreign Secretary. His overseas postings include India, Indonesia, the UK (Deputy High Commissioner), Senegal (Ambassador), with accreditation to Mali, Cote D’ivoire, The Gambia and Guniea-Conackry, and Nepal (Ambassador).
Ambassdor Ahmed served as a member of the Board of Directors at Janata Bank and later at Bank Asia. He also served as Director of Nabil Bank Nepal and Advisor at Rangs Group.
Ambassador Mohiuddin Ahmed completed his master’s degree in International Relations from Dhaka University. His expertise include international relations, administration and negotiation skills.
Ambassador Ahmed was an activist during Bangladesh’s mother language movement and a freedom fighter.
